Contests and tournaments
Dear noble Lords and Ladies,
we hope you enjoyed the pumpkin-festivities, as the King surely has. In fact, he enjoyed them so much, that he is planning on holding a tournament now, to give all his subjects a jolly good time before it finally will get too cold to gather outside, and before everyone will stay inside to huddle around their own fires.
Since it is already quite nippy outside, of course His Royal Highness wants to make sure all visitors will stay warm during the course of the tournament. That's why he is planning to provide everyone with free drinks. Surely, this shouldn't just keep the visitors nice and warm, but should also get everyone's spirits up, to make for an even jollier atmosphere.
So please send us as much mead as you can! Of course only the best qualities are acceptable, so the mead you send in should be of no less than quality 7!
To attract just as many participants for this tournament as possible, this one is going to be a special one: it will be open for everyone - knights in shining armour and peasants alike. Everyone should be able to show their prowess and try their luck for some gold and the favour of the ladies. And who knows, the King might even find some new soldiers for his palace watch among the participants.
Of course, not everyone will be able to afford the equipment, so all brave and valiant participants are going to be outfitted as best as possible. Unfortunately, past skirmishes have reduced the amount of arms available quite a bit, so it is now up to all guilds to help out here. Please send us swords, sharp and gleaming ones, of quality 6 (they shouldn't be too sharp after all... we don't want the untrained peasants to lose their limbs... so quality 6 should suffice this time.)
