In the far north of the country on the outskirts of the small town of Cleyra
one man owns several Farms, and a Butchery in which he presently grows his own
Herbs and Beets to raise Pigs to sell as Dried Meat.
Due to changes in the market however he has recently noted that his sales are
steadily falling, and he's having to reduce his prices almost daily to sell
his stock. Exporting his Dried Meat would mean he would need to hire several
new workers and purchase a number of high quality carts.
Rather then take such a drastic, and expensive action he instead decides to
simply change his variety of production and decides instead of Pigs to raise
Deer, and sell Venison instead.
Venison is an expensive meat due to the cost of raising Deer, however if he
can make even the same as he did before with Dried Meat it would be better for
him in the long run.
In order to start changing his business however he must first train his
current employees in the Butchery on how to identify the best parts of a Deer
to cut into Venison.
Tutoring is expensive, however with Deer he cannot afford to many mistakes. He
sends a letter to another town several miles away to another farmer who raises
Deer to ask for them to train his workers.
The farmer responds with an offer of 1,200 ¢τ per employee, and an
additional 3,000 ¢τ to cover his travel expenses. He also offers to
train his Cattle Farmers on how to effectively raise the Deer at a cost of
900 ¢τ per employee.
Now our farm owner has 20 employees working in the Butchery, and 18 on the
Cattle Farm. All of these would need to be trained up in order for him to
successfully change his business.
Now he can't afford this straight away, so would need to sell his remaining
stock of Pigs and Dried Meat to not only cover enough to train his employees,
but enough to continue paying their wages until the training was complete.
In the storehouse he has 200 Pieces of Dried Meat ready to sell, and and 30
Pigs over at the Cattle Farm. Assuming he can earn 170 ¢τ each for the
Dried Meat, and 120 ¢τ each on the Pigs, and that he pays his employees
a wage of 160 ¢τ a week for working on the Cattle Farm, and 200 ¢τ
a week for working in the Butchery ..
