Player Interview

1. Having played on the English version of Kapi-Regnum now for just over two months what is your overall opinion on the game, and it's growth with features and the players?

I love this game!
I have always had the dream that I will be the leader of a big organization; company or a country. The greatest excellence of this game is that I can control everything in the city and although it’s not real Kapi-Regnum really satisfies the need of my mind.

Moreover, I really enjoy meeting people world-wide and making friends. That’s another point attracts me.

I think my progress is not bad, I was the 159th Bourgeois, but I am the 44th Councillor now. I hope my city name will soon be listed in the first page of total value but it’s quite hard to keep up.

I have to say thank you to everyone in the game, especially my suppliers and customers. It’s hard to imagine that I don’t have any of them. I also want to say thanks to players who gave me good recommendations.

2. Do you play across any of the other economy simulation games from UpJers? (Kapilands, Kapitalism, etc)

Yes, I also have an account of the 2nd server of Kapilands.com

3. Do you believe this experience from the other servers has helped you now?

I believe the experience would be a great help, but not for me because I started playing these two games at almost the same time.

In my situation, receiving advice from other players who started earlier has helped more than my own experience.
However, where the advice comes from? - Their experience!
That’s why I said it would be a great help, but not for me.

4. Been one of the first winners of the Sunday Puzzle in the Journal, and so receiving one of the first Philosopher's Stone items on the server..
How did you feel about the riddle in that puzzle; did you find it easy to answer, or somewhat difficult to understand at first?

It was really hard for me at first; I spent 2 or 3 hours and got nothing. The relationship between English letters and number is not very easy to figure out but after a discussion with other players from PTT, I realized the answer finally.

I was really excited and sent the answer immediately. I like this puzzle and I wish I can find the answer in every issue of Journal. Brainstorming is fun!

By the way, I want to use this opportunity to shout out to Marlan; She was the one who let me discover the point of the puzzle.

5. Do you own any other special items, or buildings to further boost your reputation aside from the Philosopher's Stone, or have any plans in the near future?

Well, I built a workhouse on my first day of rank Sir, because I was curious about the special buildings. Nevertheless, I don’t deliver anything to it. I think I am not rich enough to gain the points.

6. What is your general opinion of Reputation - Do you feel it is something worth investing in, or more for a casual sideline?

Yes, I feel it is something worth investing in, but not at this stage of the game. This server is just started two or three months ago, and only a few people have lots of money to currently afford to raise it.

For this third edition of the Regnum Journal I was able to contact, and Interview another of our users within the game.

Amnotu
Of the city Hao.

Hao was one of the recent winners from the Sunday Puzzle in the first edition of the journal, and due to already having some reputation not directly from the Philosopher's Stone prize was contacted to get a unique perspective on Reputation.

Additionally they have also provided yet another new insight into the opinion of whether to specialise in a particular market, or mix and match; as well as mentioning of their experience of the game.

Note that we generally select and contact people at random to inquire if they would be interested in been Interviewed for the paper, and contacting one of the editorial staff will not improve your chances of been one of those selected.

7. Do you specialize in a particular product or mix & match to make a profit to improve your city?

I do specialize in a particular product, yes.
As everyone knows, researching is very important; goods with bad quality can’t make good profit and if you want to produce every material of your products you will find it is quite hard to maintain a high quality number.

Leaving some profit margins for others, that way, everyone wins! I really take the advantage of co-operation.
Compared to other players, I have tens of friends from PTT and most of us have our own particular product, the result is quite obvious; there are about 20 of our members in the top 100 of total value!

8. Do you have a particular interest in the middle ages that has made you more inclined to play Kapi-Regnum?

Yes, medieval legends always attract me. In fact, history is one of my favourite subjects at school, and I also interested in business too. This game combine these two things and I think that is why I enjoy it so much.

9. Approximately how much time do you put into the game on an average day?

I check my shops and contracts several times every day, about one hour totally. In addition, I also spend some time chatting about Kapi-Regnum and Kapilands with other players from PTT.

10. How did you hear about the game?

I read an article introducing these two games (Kapi-Regnum and Kapilands) on PTT at the end of October and decided to have a try, and enjoyed them right away.

Other Comments

I want to use this chance to talk about PTT; it is the biggest Bulletin Board System in Taiwan, You may see some players’ shop windows that show Pirates of Trading from Taiwan, they are our members. We all from Taiwan and met each other on the Bulletin Board System itself.

I know most of Kapi players come from the west, if you are interested in Chinese/Taiwanese culture, you may try contacting one of us of Pirates of Trading from Taiwan.
